London - take .5

We've arrived in London! After a nice 9.5 hour flight from LAX, (and sitting next to a quite chatty lady whose name I never actually learned), a fairly decent dinner meal of salad, chicken with pasta, and water, and several movies and hours of my butt falling asleep, we arrived at London Heathrow.

I've included some pictures of my view from the plane. (The first is at the airport in LA. I messed around with the automatic white balance feature and using Tungsten balance worked best I found for that shot - although its hard to take a good shot using a 1'x1' window as a frame...) The next one is taken from above Los Angeles - as we're flying east over Long Beach. (Mom, you'll be happy to know that we flew over Liberal, Kansas - there's one of those nifty flight maps that you can watch on the plane. I think our max speed was like 608mph or something like that.) I watched the first half of the Devil Wears Prada (creepily a great movie) and then all of The Dark Knight (well, at least as much as I could before my Xanax kicked in...)

I threw in a pic of AJ helping me pack for your viewing pleasure. :-)

So now we are in a "bar/kitchen" called Huxleys in Terminal 5 at LHR, killing time before our Dubai leg of the flight - which, after an 8 hour layover, I'm SURE i will be more than happy to board.
